Traveling between terminals at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport

Whether you've arrived or are about to fly away, multiple on-site transport options guarantee instant and regular transfers between terminals at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Don't know which one is best for you? So, your starting and final destination matters, as does the time and effort you are willing to spend.

For trouble-free movement between T1 and T3, T1 and T2, and between T3 and T2, CDGVal is the only right choice. If cruising within 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, and 2F sections in T2, benefit from the special pedestrian connecting corridors, or catch the free N1 shuttle. At the same time, the N2 bus transports passengers to the 2G satellite single-standing sub-terminal located a short distance away.

Separate shuttles are also ready to cater to travelers who want to transfer to connecting flights. The Purple, Blue, and Orange lines run regularly between T1 and 2A-2G sections, providing non-stop rides from early morning until late evening.

Free shuttles between terminals at Roissy Airport

CDGVal

Launched in 2007, the CDGVal train at Paris airport has become a revolutionary solution for immediate passenger transportation. This completely free driverless shuttle service runs between all CDG terminals and moves three times faster than a regular bus. It also covers parking lots while transporting drivers to/from garages in minutes.

The CDGVal route starts at T1, after which the train stops at the PR car park and continues towards T3. Then, it goes to the PX car park, and finally arrives at T2, connecting all the primary in-airport facilities along the way. If you disembark the automated people mover at the T3 stop, you have access to the passenger area itself and Roissypole, which hosts the bus and RER/Paris by train stations. Also, citizen M, Hilton, and Ibis hotels are all within walking distance of this CDGVal stop.

Those who want to get to T2A, T2B, T2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, or 2G should get off at stop T2, located on Level 4 between E and F sections. The station serving TGV intercity and RER regional trains is a 5-minute walk away, as is the Sheraton Hotel. Similarly, you can get to the Holiday Inn Express if you get off at the PR car park stop.

CDGVal light-rail shuttles operate 7 days a week every 4 minutes from 4:00 am to 1:00 am, with a night break between 1:00 am and 4:00 am. The duration of a one-way trip is 8 minutes between extreme points and 4 minutes between nearby terminals.

CDGVal shuttle map

When traveling by automated train, pay special attention to its route and the sequence of stops. After leaving T1, the shuttle goes to T3, and only then proceeds towards T2. In addition, it serves PR (between T1 and T3) and PX (between T3 and T2) parking garages. For more details, see the following map.

N1 shuttle

Paris Roissy Airport free shuttle buses ensure continuous passenger transportation within T2, and the N1 bus is one of them. The route runs between T2 sections (except T2G) and covers the SNCF railway station plus the PW parking lot and a couple of facilities along the way. Here's where the shuttle picks up passengers:

  • 2A/2C - near Exit 10
  • 2B/2D - near Exit 6, B-D junction
  • 2E - at departures level, near Exit 16d
  • 2F - at departures level, near Exit 2d
  • PW parking - opposite the entrance to the facility
  • TGV/RER station, left luggage facility, Sheraton Hotel - on Level 5

Expect the duration of a one-way journey to be 25-30 minutes while the interval between adjacent stops ranges from 1 to 8 minutes. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but the regularity of routes changes late at night: buses leave every 7-10 minutes from 4:00 am to 1:30 am and only once in 15 minutes from 1:30 am to 4:00 am.

N1 route map

The sequence of stops on the N1 circular bus route is as follows: 2A/2C>>>2E>>>PW Parking>>>2F>>>Railway Station>>>2B/2D. You may find more accurate information on the map below.

N2 shuttle

If you are looking for the right Paris Charles de Gaulle free shuttle to get to the remote Terminal 2G, the N2 route is the answer. It operates between landside 2F and 2G, delivering passengers from one place to another in 6-7 minutes.

In the 2F section, you can catch a bus near Exit 2d on the departure level, and in 2G, it stops in front of the building entrance. The route leaves every 5-8 minutes between 05:30 am and 11:00 pm. In addition, from 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm, the shuttle also makes a stop in the 2E section along the way. As with other integrated on-site transport options, the N2 bus is absolutely free.

N2 route map

The line includes only two stops - one in each section, 2F and 2G. From 2F you can get to other parts of the airfield, including sub-terminals 2A-2E, T1, T3, and SNCF railway station serving TGV/RER trains. See the map below for more information about the route.

Connecting flights transportation

If you are looking for fast and convenient transit between terminals to transfer to another flight, benefit from a point-to-point connecting shuttle bus at Roissy Airport. Three specially arranged lines make it possible to move between T1 and T2, as well as sections 2A-2G. Which one is better for you? Let's look at each - purple, blue, and orange - in more detail.

Purple shuttle

The bus runs within the international transit zone and provides a direct connection between T2F/T2E Gate L and T2E Gate M, with a total one-way trip duration of 7 minutes. You can catch it every 4 minutes from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm and every 11 minutes from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. From T2F, another airside shuttle is ready to take you to T1, as well as 2A, 2B, 2C, and 2D satellites.

Blue shuttle

This bus links Terminal 1 and major T2 sections without leaving the international transit zone. The route starts at T1 and heads to T2B/2D before continuing to T2F/2E Gates L. The shuttle then stops at T2E Gates K and finally reaches the T2A/2C satellite. A full circle takes about 37 minutes to complete, with intervals between stops of 2-8 minutes. Blue buses collect connecting passengers regularly, every 8 minutes from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm.

Orange shuttle

In-terminal shuttles at Charles de Gaulle also include an orange shuttle which provides a direct Schengen connection between the airside 2F and 2G sections. The duration of a one-way journey is 9-10 minutes depending on the direction. Buses operate from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm, leaving every 6 minutes. You can use the orange shuttle to transfer to another bus route serving international transit zones of T1, plus 2A, 2B, 2C, and 2D satellites. Additionally, Gates K, L, and M in section 2E are within walking distance of 2F, where the bus stops.
